Hide And Seek

Copyright 2006.

There are times when God plays Hide and Seek with us.

In those times, it is RARELY a game.

Isaiah 45:15 states:
Truly, You are a God who hides yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

Psalm 10:1 states:
Why O Lord, do You stand afar off? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

Often, in these times of trouble and fear, we cannot see God, but we must trust Him anyway. He has told us
"I will never Leave you, I will never forsake you."

And though we cannot see Him through the rain, we must trust that He is still there.

Unfortunately, there are also times when God hides Himself from us, when our sin separates us from Him. In those times, the only recourse we have, is to confess our sins and receive His forgiveness.

Micah 3:4 says:
Then they will cry to the Lord, but He will not answer them; He will hide His face from them at that time, because they have made their deeds evil.

Lyrics

Verse 1:
Looking in the laundry room
Underneath the blanket
Checking in the closet
There behind the rack of clothes
Underneath the big bed
Is the place where I find you
Pick you up and hug you
And kiss you on the nose

Chorus: (2 times)
Hide and Seek
You're playing hide and seek with me
Hide and Seek
You hide and I'll seek
Like a search for buried treasure
I will seek until I find
For I know no greater treasure than you.

Verse 2:
Playing hide and seek
With my daughters and sons
I'm reminded how my Father
Sometimes hides from me
If I search with all my heart
He is certain to be found
Pick me up and dust me off
And set me on the ground

Chorus: (2 times)

Verse 3:
Searching through the bible
I discover Wisdom's Cry
Calling in the streets to us
To come and seek and find
If you search for her like silver
Like a treasure in the ground
If you cry out for Wisdom
She is certain to be found

Chorus: (3 times)
